Keep the Curl in Your Lashes

I learned something new recently.  Robert Jones, a fabulous makeup artist, has always said that one of the biggest things that you can do to make your eyes pop is to curl your eyelashes.  Not just curl, but "curl, curl, curl."  I got my first eyelash curler when I was in 8th grade, and I had no idea how to use it... for years.  When I started selling Mary Kay and got to see Robert Jones at a workshop, he explained how to curl your lashes.  It's not just one crimp, but that you start at the base of your lashes and move up to the ends, making multiple crimps.  Just recently I was watching a Robert Jones tutorial online and he said that the best way to keep the curl in your lashes is to use waterproof mascara as your first coat.  So, that's what I've been doing.  And it definitely makes a difference.  It holds the curl so much better.  I have never been a fan of waterproof mascara, but I'm now a lover of it!  Robert Jones also recommends using 3 coats of mascara, so I use *Mary Kay Waterproof Mascara as my first coat, and Mary Kay Lash Lengthening for the second and third coats.  Another tip... let the mascara dry between coats.  I love my "new" lashes!

Child's Journal

When I was a little girl, my dad started a diary with me.  In it, I dictated for my dad what we had done that day as he wrote in my diary.  As an adult, I love being able to read what I said as a young child.

I recently purchased a journal from http://www.tinyprints.com/ that I am going to use for my daughter.  She's not old enough to dictate for me, but I plan on writing about the things she says or does so that she can read them as she gets older.

RSVP Potato Ricer

I've used a number of potato mashers and ricers in the past, and this is by far my favorite way to get great mashed (riced) potatoes.  This ricer is so easy to use and clean.  I've used others that take a lot of strength, but this one doesn't take much effort at all.  And for around $15, it's a great price, too.  I make mashed potatoes a lot and would hate to be without it!
